Also in vet, but it's quiet in there & Im impatient! :D

As the title really.*

What was the reason for your horse having them? Arthritis?

Was it successful? Totally or just better than previous?

How long did it last?

Did u have more done once the first had worn off?

Any infections post-injection?

Many thanks*

Had our WB injected in december and it seemed very effective. However, when spring emerged, prior to the Easter deluges the hard ground took it's toll and he seemed slightly short in front.Vet administered another round of injections. He is still slightly short in his nearside fore, but this has been complicated as he recently popped a splint which has increased in size,so hard to elicit if it is the splint or the coffin joint causing problems now.If the DMSO fails to alleviate the splint problem he will probably have a third treatment with the joint injections. Not easy to give any definitive prognosis sadly.Hope your horses treatment is successful

Our horse had steroid injections into her coffin joints for arthritis, no complications but they didn't help with the lameness. Bute has been most effective for lameness.

Hi my experience was the same as Katherines, mine had injections into both front feet due to arthritis ... no infection problems but no improvement in lameness either. He is now sound on bute also.

My horse had them into both aswell as having both hocks done in August last year. Came completely sound on front left and on both hinds. Front right was the worst affected (ringbone) and this has had about a 70% improvement. He is completely sound in it. Only lameness that shows is on a tight circle and when ground really hard in summer. Had no infections post injection and no laminitis.
Happy with the outcome though obviously no idea how long they will last. Horse still in full work

One of ours originally had a steriod injection into the fetlock joint, which didn't work, so she had a course of 3 adaquan shots into the offending joint. This worked perfectly, so when she went lame in the coffin joint, she had adaquan straight away, and hasn't had anymore problems with it. She has had adaquan in 3 different joints, and no more problems in them.
