Hi all just wondering what people's opinions are I compete my gelding at be90 and have been having a great season with a few top 10 placings. This is a level where I am happy jumping at as I am not the most confident. So the question is should I be moving up some people have made comments like surely you shouldn't be still jumping them and your horse is more capable , you get the drift ,am I wrong sticking at90 I love what we do views please thanks in advance

I think entering a class that as a team, you know are much more capable of is wrong if you're out to win it for the sake of winning. However, knocking your confidence by going higher because people think you should isn't good for either you or your horse. Perhaps keep at the BE90 until you're more confident to move up but if you don't want to move up...enter HC.

If you don't want to go any higher then you don't have to! Loads of people stick at be90 for their whole career- much better than stepping up a level when you're not confident and happy, and having a serious accident!
If the time comes when you start winning every be90 you enter, it would be good grace to move to be90 opens to give others a chance. However this isn't compulsory.

There will be people who say you should move up but you are eligible for the class so no reason why you shouldnt stay in it.
I spent about 3 seasons doing BE90 on two different horses. I was placed nearly every time out and went to the Grassroots championships on one of them.
Although i did a few BE100s on one horse the other stayed at 90 as thats what he was comfortable at.
I am looking for a new horse and i only want to do 90s now.
This is why its called Grassroots!
Its better to have fun at a level you are comfortable with than push yourself beyond your limits and start having problems.

I sometimes walk the course and think looking at the 100 fences I could jump that then I get to the next one and think no way I've struggled so much with my confidence I'd hate to lose it again. Thanks for the replies
