My mum's 9 yo tb mare has always had a bit of a sticking stifle but never caused her a real problem.. a few weeks ago we went out hacking & we were cantering & then she decided to gallop up hill (not a mojorly steep hill) & the next day she was a bit stiff, we thought it was due to her getting so excited that she was doing really wierd hunched up strides & bucking.. ever since her stifle has been sticking & playing up a bit.. does anyone have any experience with sticking stifles, anything we can do to help? We've put her on bute for the last 3 days, just one in the morning before turning her out & it does seem to have eased today. I've read on the internet that it could possibly be a strained tendon or ligament & that she should just be exercised in straight lines for a bit. The vet will be coming out Wednesday but until then just wondered what you all thought. Thanks.
