Sticky Stifles

Shadow is having an operation next Wed to snip a ligament in both back legs because he suffers with stuck stifles.

Has anyone experienced this as well? Or had the operation done?

Bit nervous about the whole thing...

I don't have any first hand experience of this, but a horse at my old yard had it done. The op went well, with no problems, and she's made a 100% recovery back to full work. She needs quite a lot of warming up before she can work well, and she is quite stiff, but still able to hack, dressage and jump.

hi I used to own a horse that had a dodgy stifle I owned him for six years rode him nearly every day and had no problems, when I sold him the new owners said he went lame a few times and had the op done , personally I think It was because they didnt ride as much as I did and he was kept in the stable a lot and I think he went stiff, they had the op and said he was better but not 100 % he is 19 now and lives a happy normal life. hope this helps
