When i bought my horse, I had him 5 stage vetted. The only thing which came to light was a slightly twisted pelvis. He passed vetting came home and has had plenty of work done on his back/pelvis. ( My back lady and vet are both very happy with his back)
He is a ten year old 17.3 warmblood, Just for the record.
Various behavioral problems soon became aparant, But i bought him from a dealer and i guess this should be expected. He bucks whenever he feels like it, not at any specific thing. He has been known to rear and is generally a nappy little sod.
This however isnt the main thing thats bugging me.
He constantly seems stiff behind through his fetlocks. Hes on Cortaflex HA but this seems to be making no difference.
When he's shod his fine with his front but has baisically no flexion or movement in his backs and clearly finds it uncomfortable when his back feet are hoiked up - Proving a nightmare for my farrier.
Ive had the vet out, hes done flexions test - Ive even asked him to hold the leg foot as a farrier would, and hes said he thinks theres no problem. But my farrier constantly is telling me otherwise... and he seems to find it hard when hes working. Not managing to pick his back legs up enough when jumping etc.
Hes always stayed sound and im at a bit of a loss...
WHat do you think it could be?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
