I've noticed recently since the weather is colder that my horse seems a bit stiff in his hind legs in the mornings. He drags his toes on the concrete when he comes out of his stable to be turned out first thing which I've never noticed before. It's only initially and hes fine when he comes in after being out all day and moving about. Also whilst riding, I've heard a slight clicking sound coming from his hocks, only occasionally and not continuous. His paces haven't changed and he doesn't seem uncomfortable at all.
Do you think i should start feeding a joint supplement? If so what? I've heard good things about Cortaflex but would rather try something cheaper first as it's only mild, don't want to be wasting my money if it's not necessary. Cod liver oil, cider vinegar etc?? I was planning on putting him on Top Spec Balancer anyway, would that have any benefit as well?
Thanks
