My partner and I have just started to notice my rottie (8 years old) Starting to slow down a bit. Can anyone recommend a joint supplement.

Many Thanks

Nutraquin or seraquin. You get them from the vets, otherwise you can get "joint aid", which contains the same ingredients, but in a less high percentage.

Mine are both on Glycoflex which comes in 3 strengths and I get from my vet. Alternatively green lipped mussels (from health food shops or Maxaflex on internet) helped my old horse immensely when he had arthritis.
It may be worth a trip to the vet to check it's nothing more specific.

Thanks

Ruby bobbin the 1ST lol that's what we call her, Is booked in for her MOT at the end of the month. I think it's just her age catching up with her. Just want to start a supplement now to keep on top of it.

All mine are given cod liver oil in their evening meal no matter what age, think it's a good idea to oil the joints from an early age!!! My ancient old boy (17 in 2 weeks!!) is on Seraquin, GLM and Devils Claw! He's 17 so not much is going to help but as he's on steriods for another issue he cannot have anything from the vet for his joints. :(

Apparently Synflex is very good but it's expensive, because your boy is quiet young I'd stick to something like Seraquin or a lower doseage of GLM and work upwards as and when he needs it. If you do go for GLM buy human grade tablets, they are half the price of canine ones, but just make sure the GLM level is 500mg or above. ;) I buy these http://www.simplysupplements.net/product/53/green-lipped-mussel-500mg/

As some others have mentioned Seraquin is fantastic and works out very eonomical once you get past the loading dose. My fussy non pill eating staffie loves them, as long as they are called sweeties and not pills :o

The vets sell them but I get them much cheaper from http://www.petdrugsonline.co.uk/site.aspx?i=ca0&s=seraquin

I have also added Super Solvitax R-A formula double strength and halved the amount of Seraquin Kc gets and is doing fabulously on the combination :D

I've tried a few on my lurcher including joint aid and glycoflex III but the best by far has been Stride plus and I also give him Devils Claw when he does a bit more exercise than usual.
