My horse, a 7 year old show jumper has been diagnosed with desmitis and disruption of the right middle femoropatella ligament and chronic synovitis of the right medial femorotibial joint, i have been told that the prognosis is gaurded for a full return to competitive showjumping but that even a future as a dressage horse is limited, on top of this he also has a right tuber coxae fracture. He has a very difficult temperament so retirement is not an option and i have been told that i should consider having him put to sleep. This could have been fairly long term he went lame December 2010 and my vet treated him for bone spavins when he didnt improve and the vet wouldn't listen to us i sought a second opinion and i received this diagnosis last week and am trying to find out as much as i can with limited success. Any experiances/ opinions would be much appreciated.
