Had vet out to-day regards arthritis in my cobs stifle pretty much as i thought - knackered -.
Was injected last year which was a success re-done this year sound for around two months went lame around 2 out of 10. No point in injecting again will put her on bute for a week and see what she is like for maybe light use otherwise retired. Oh well such is life will let her live out her days or until she gets to sore.

Can they not do an arthroscopy on your horses stifle? This might be worth considering if you are covered on your insurance for this procedure.

Here is an example of what they do: http://www.clydevetgroup.co.uk/equine/newsletters/apr08.htm

Dicussed with vet due to age 17 and what the xrays revealed little point on going to that amount of expense on a veteran horse. She is not in pain when dossing about in the field maybe ok for light use on bute. She has such a good nature makes a good pet or field companion for someone if not i will keep her as a pet as i have had her for such a long time.
