My dog is still ill.
Taking her back for more xrays tomo, as its a week since the first lot. The vet thinks its a virus but im not convinced.
Coughing, panting, lost weight, not interested in food, no energy.
Had a course of antibiotics, and dioretics. All finished now so will be drug free tomo.
I think it may be heart worms, or worse.
She eats her own poo and the local cats too. Dread to think whats shes picked up. She ate cat poo a week before she started coughing.
Healing vibes please

It's a possibility, and if she's older, it will hit her harder.
Hope she improves, bless, she doesn't sound like a happy bunny :(
Fingers crossed for her. As I said before, if you're not happy with diagnosis please don't feel bad about getting a second opinion.

Not judging you AT ALL, please don't think I am, but this should be a reminder for people with younger dogs to be very careful about what they pick up, even slugs and snails carry lung and heartworm and it's why I always lift food bowls as soon as they are done eating.

Have you had her stools checked for lung worm. I almost lost a Bull terrier to it a few years ago as vet completly missed it and she ended up at the RVC on a drip for five days. Symptoms sound same as what your dog has.

Sending positive get well thoughts

I would ditto lungworm. All mine are treated routinely with Advocate as a precaution. The slug and snail population has exploded in our area in the past couple of years. Talking to a vet friend locally she has seen a massive increase with infected individuals the past year and many of them have been beyond help by the time they were brought in sadly. Even though your husbandry may be impeccable the slimy things are everywhere, fields, plants, even trails across outdoor dog beds, toys left out. And they do make their way indoors.
