just came back from yard - put juno out in the small pen as per the vets instructions after 3 days box rest and bute for her lameness - (we ve decided its the black leg/foot after all) she is still on bute and as she ran off we saw that she is still lame. I know im not a very patient person but i am now worried, should she still be lame when she s still on 3 sachets of bute a day, no heat swelling etc anywhere so we dont know what is the cause she has been lame 1 1/2 weeks now - sorry its a ramble and there are other forum members with reallypoorly horses and compared to them this is a silly thing but i am very worried - any thoughts guys?

I don't know the history to this.....But I would say that if this continues you should ask your vet about getting x-rays/ultrasound/nerve blocks done depending on the type of injury it is likely to be.
I guess if you don't see an improvement you need to try to get a diagnosis of what exactly is wrong so treatment can be specifically aimed at that problem.
In the meantime you are not working her and you are following the vet's instructions so that is pretty much all you can do.
If you are really worried give your vet a call and talk things through.
Hope things improve...

mine has finally gone sound farrier coming tue to put shoe back on . i really thought that it would never heal .try not to worry its only cause noone can tell you how long it should take.my vet just said how long is a peice of string v helpful thats almost 2 weeks but if he had said to me before a month say i think i could have not been so panicy .some days we even went backwards good luck

thanks - i know what you mean oliversfriend - if i had an idea how long i wouldnt be so worried - i just hope that its the hard ground and shes twisted something rather than it being an age thing! i think im being really selfish but i was asked to take her on loan to do long distance and i reaaly like her now - ive spent a lot of money and put a lot of time in getting her fit slowly, new saddle rugs bridle, lot of money on getting her frozen shoulder sorted out and lot of love and time so it would kill me to heve to send her back not to mention trying to find another one - but i have to have a horse that can do the work otherwise i would not have sold my old pony into semi retirement (she was/is the love of my life) worry, worry, rant, ramble!!!!!!!

ps - sorry - see what i mean about me being selfish!!! i meant to say really glad your horse is now sound oliversfreind what a relief! x
