i was wondering if anyone could help me search on the internet for a horse for sale for mee as i am new to the whole buying thing lol and can't (sometimes) decide between which i think are the 'good ones'

Horsemart is a great site. I like it because it allows you to put in so many parameters.

When you say "able to compete" what do you want to compete in? Jumping, dressage, x-country, polo, endurance? How competitive do you want to get?

by the way, you might be very lucky to find a good horse with tack included at that price. They are out there, good luck finding them!
 
Try putting a wanted advert out. There's a few horsey websites you can put on adverts for free and possibly you're local papers? Ive had success from wanted ads in the past, just make sure you put in exactly what sort of thing you're looking for or you'll have people calling up trying to offer you a donkey!

Failing that, try asking around your local riding schools & livery yards - sometimes they'll have things for sale or know of some.
