My ID x TB with a bit of cob thrown in aswell has just turned 5 and has recently grown a little bit more and is now about 16.3hh is he likely to grow much more do we think or will that be about his last growth spurt he has proberbly grown about 2 inches in a year?!

is he still bum high?

I think its normally warmbloods that keep growing til about 8ish! not sure about ID or TB

I'm hoping TB's stop young as my boy is 3 and already over sized

No not tried the string test his sire was only 16hh and his dam was smaller didnt think he would grow any more but he keeps creeping up

Just found some more info on his dam looks as though she was maybe 16hh so might explain his height a bit more

I use the string test as its fairly accurate on mine. Measure from the middle of the knee to the top of the coronet and what that is in inches is what your horse should be in hands. My 3yr old cob measures 15.1hh and he's currently 14.3hh so I think that will be right.
