Still worried about my colt :(

As some off you know my 11 month old colt has no testicles and I'm so worried, iv had the vet out and she can't feel a thing either. :(
I know he's a Heinz 57 mix and was brought for nothing from the local sales and has a dodgy jaw but I love him. Thing is if they don't drop I can't justify the money for the op when he's already got a few other minor issues.
Help!! Will they drop in time? I found his breeder and he's interbred, his dad is his half brother so could this have anything to do with it?
How long should I give him before I get seriously worried
 
Mine Heinz 57 was 3 before they both dropped, first came down at 2.5, so they may well do although I get the impression that he was unusual to be that late. He hadn't hadva very good start so not sure if that's something to do with it may be.
Are you in a rush to have him done or able to wait a bit longer? Is he particulally coltish?

My lads had a very bad start as well, weaned early, chucked through sales, seemed weak and very wormy I had the whole lot out off him including slow worms :)
he's not colty in anyway at the mo and still turned out with geldings and a mare. Mare is in season but he don't care he's still very much a baby and trys to suck off her but gets a bitten bum for it.
I need him out the field soon as I don't want any fighting which I can sort but I just want a pair off balls :(
 
Don't worry, mine was booked in feb 10th to be done,vet had a look in Oct and only one had dropped,she was the one said Feb and still only the one so will wait next year, so stop worrying, mine is also a lot younger than the travellers said,on his passport that I had done for him he's now roughtly 11 months, but think he is so much younger,they will drop,also you can send them to vet schools where the young vets get their practise,but I think you have to sign a waifer if something goes wrong and you lose him,ask your vet.
 
He sounds like he's had a very similar start to mine, I could tell from his behavior when the first one dropped and also the second, up until the first one dropping he was never interested in mares, was walked out with a mare in season and didn't so much as look at her twice, had no idea what it is that boys do! I was in a position that I could wait a while for them to make an apearance however was dreading the idea of the op and wasn't sure I could justify it
 
I'd be more worried that he's still trying to suckle,means poor little bugger is a lot younger than you really think, get some dried ewes milk and put it in his feed.What you have to remember if this colt came from the traveller community they rarely have their colts cut,so the mares and colts run together, if a mare foals down, 9 days later she comes into foal heat and if a colt is running with her Bob's your uncle.
 
Echo bravo how can you not worry? I'm looking daily and praying I see something. I can't bare the thought off him growing up and building a bond and maybe having to let him go.
 
I'd give him till autumn this year and if they haven't dropped by then, then I'd send him for crypto surgery. Most colts are born with a pair of dropped testicles. It is extremely rare for them to drop if they haven't done so by 2 years old.
