Still a shortage of it I'm afraid everywhere, one of the compounding companies was looking at making it but I'm not sure if they've managed it yet.

(Sorry this isn't massively helpful in your situation, but just wanted to reassure you that unfortunately it's not just a one-practice issue)

Ww normally use Liphook to get the kits but they were out so used somewhere else

My mare had it 3 1/2 years ago and tested borderline! She had reoccurring bald patches/ infections on her face. Vet thought it might be cushings although tested negative on ACHT test. The following year, I started her on one tablet of prascend a day and no more issues!

Whilst it’s worrying that you can’t get the stim test done, 2 tablets a day is pretty much the maximum recommended dose for PPID.

My vet says if 2 tablets/day are not keeping the ACTH levels controlled, then there’s something else going on in addition to the PPID. 2 tablets/day is the maximum dose that they recommend, though they will prescribe more if an owner insists.

I’d keep him on the current dose and keep a careful eye on him.

Has anyone has any luck with their vets getting the TRH Stim test in stock?

Mine havent been able to get it in stock for nearly a year and its the only reliable test for him we sort of have to guess the ACTH one
Maybe you could order one in Germany: https://laboklin.com/en/products/ha...-formulas/trh-stimulation-test-dog-i-3-x-ft4/
There's a contact email address and phone number on the website, too. If they only have them for dogs, perhaps they can put you in contact with a source for horses.

I don’t bother with the ACTH test anymore as she has always tested negative with it. I go by the symptoms now! 1/2 tablet am and pm seems to work well for her.
