Well, he is now a big boy of 5 and we did our first little SJ competition at the weekend. He had done 3 jumps at home, but had never seen a full course, fillers, planks etc. He went round like a little star, did not hesitate once, though did insist on doing huge jumps over 1'6 and 2' fences.

He really looked after me - I have hardly jumped for over 5 years and as you can see, boy do I need to put some work in on my position. I am so lucky, in comes in carefully, no pulling, does his jump and goes away as steady - such a difference after years of hot fired TBs pinging round.

He actually came 2nd in the 1'6 and in the 2' went round beautifully until in the jump off, I got my hands covered in detangler from his mane (must plait next time) and lost the reins and the steering in the double and had 4 faults.

Can't wait for the next one in December - we are going for the 2' and 2'3 and also doing a WH course at 2'3 - start little and work up.

All I need to be able to do is a course of 2'9 - 3' by the end of August as I want to do the working traditional cob at the BSPA champions - he will do it - he flies 2'9 already - but will I stay on?????

As ever, another huge tick in the achievement box and I am so proud of him.

I am the great height of 4'11 and 3/4" and to cap it off, I have very short legs

Stinky is 15 and 1/2 hands - but will be a good 15.1 or a little more as he is bum up again. He also has another three years of filling out - the difference between 4 and 5 has been very obvious.

Now you should see me on the clydesdales if you want to see pea on a pod - maybe next year as Farra is still very much on L plates - lots of love of jumping - does them in the school by herself for fun, but lacking a bit of balance still as very green.

Well I am so good at buying horses. I spent a year finding the perfect gypsy mare and on the way back, saw a field of youngsters and fall in love with a pair of kind brown eyes and home he came. Farra was the same - saw the kind expression on a photo on the internet and knew she was the one to buy.

So you may want to reconsider me buying for you

Luckily my gut decisions have worked out rather well - both of them are all we want and have lovely temperaments which for us is the most important thing.
