Stirrup leather length?

very thick question but my stirrups are at the yard....

Is there a 'bog standard' leather length?

Im ebaying some as i need some black leather ones - im 5'7 but ive seen a few diff ones and have no idea which to get and what height?

Any help?

Measure from your hip to floor and double it should be a rough idea.

There is a standard length which I would be getting if I were you (sorry don't know it off the top of my head!), unless you have exceptionally long legs.

Reckon you'd need 56''-58'', I'm 5'8'' and use 58'' hole #10

Standard adult is 54" x 1"
Extra long adults are 60" x 1"
Childrens (upto 6 stone weight limit) are 48" x 3/4"
You always get other sizes but these are the measurements we were taught as standard
I've made 1 1/4" x 62" for heavy men out hunting.
All solid leather stirrup leathers should be 5mm in thickness too.
