Bought some stirrup leathers and the good side of the leather is on the inside face when done up? Is this normal or would you say they are seconds? I would have thought the good face would be on the outside - or am I wrong?
I only usually buy the non stretch ones so have never had a normal pair before ....
Thanks in advance

I would have thought they were seconds! you're right in thinking that the smooth, polished (sort of) side would be on the outside when done up. Sounds like the buckle has been put on the worng way!

My sister bought a stubben pair like that about 10 years ago and they're still going strong. So, not a problem really, unless you paid full price for them! ;)

The good side is the most hard wearing so they are made like this to cope with the pressure/wear around the stirrup bars and through the stirrup eye

As Lakelandcross said. People prefer to see the shiny side on the outside hence many are made this way. It certainly does not make yours seconds:D
