After reading the inside back page of H&H 8th Dec 2011, (from the archives, 33yrs ago) I am astonished that there is an advert for a stirrup light, white shining to the front, red to the rear. Geo.Parker & Sons (saddlers) Ltd in London sold The Parker 'Stirruplite'. Note the spelling, (text language) ? Is it my imagination or was this something way ahead of its time? I( I know it used to get dark years ago, and that horses did need to be on roads then too ) What on earth happened to updating and evolving this. Where can these be purchased from now? The company is now dissolved.
I just feel it is such a shame that a lot of us riders have trouble finding a user friendly piece of equipment, and many of us are turning to cycle accessories as what we are looking for in the equine world arent there or are too expensive. And there has been something suitable in the past.
And it makes interesting reading and a topic for discussion.
