Im no spring chicken, and ive noticed the balls of my feet are hurting me after a few hours riding, like there is a lot of pressure in the balls of my feet, i ride in hindged safety stirrups, does any one have any recommendations for any other brand. thankyou.

I use ezi ride stirrups for hacking - used them for years for endurance and they are magic. Also the lace up Ariats are better than conventional riding boots as they have padding in the soles.

The other thing to check is that your boots are not too tight - inner soles can actually add to this problem.

And last, but not least, socks. Natural fibres, and again not too tight.

I love my western saddle, the stirrups and seat are so comfy for older bones, despite treating myself to sprenger stirrups and a gel seat saver, I prefer my western saddle, it makes getting off when my hip goes easier as well, mine is a wintec

In the absolute nicest possible way......learn to sit on your bottom! There shouldn't be any downward pressure in the stirrups, let alone enough to make feet hurt. **Runs and hides** :)
