Stirrups for dressage! Im currently swapping a pair of bent leg irons between my jump saddle and dressage saddle which is a total pain so have decided to ask for a new pair of stirrups for my upcoming birthday. Im thinking of leaving the bent leg ones on the jump saddle and purchasing a pair for my dressage saddle - so, what kind to go for? plain irons? of flexi irons? (are the flexis any good for dressage?)

I use the flexi stirrups. I'll be honest, the only reason I have them I because I've had them for years, and never bothered to change. They're perfectly fine for dressage, and as I dodgy ankles the extra movement is quite nice :)

I really like the look of the flexi irons and the idea behind them Im just a little worried they wont help with stability etc.....does anyone find this? Ideally I would like to go for plain irons but as I hack out etc in my dressage tack I would really like some stirrups with some sort of safety feature built in - getting stuck is one of my worst nightmares!

I have flexi irons too but want to put them on my jumping saddle and buy something nice for my dressage saddle. I like the flexi irons and if no one suggests anything better I will get a second pair.

I used to have flexi stirrups, but I did find them more useful on a jumping than dressage saddle, what with the shorter leather length. For my dressage saddle I have Korsteel diamente ones now :)

Love my JIN!! And even better I have spurs to match, both with my name laser engraved!! :O

Got them from 'SIM Equine' on Facebook, Sure they are on offer currently aswel

I'm only low level person but like a lightweight fixed sides stirrup for flat work :) I have plasticy ones tbh bit wouldn't turn down JINs- I've tried other people's :p

I got some of the mountain horse safety stirrups in the end. I was warned off going for something too lightweight for dressage and I really wanted something with a safety aspect built in so these seem to tick the boxes - very happy with them :)

I've got the sprenger offset eye ones on my dressage saddle and really like them. I've also got the stubben double off-set ones and find these are better for very long rides, don't get sore ankles in them which i do with regular irons after a few hours.
