Stirrups rubbing outside foot?

It must be something I’m doing or possibly my saddle as I’m on my 3rd set of stirrups and they all do the same. Not only do they mark my boots but the latest pair (free jump) actually hurt where my foot is resting on the outside bar (both feet)

I’m baffled. Any ideas?

Are they big enough? I have wide feet and need 'man's' stirrups (13.5cm).

Do you twist the leather the correct way? So it is flat against your leg?

Is your saddle straight?

Do you let your legs hang, or brace against them?

Do you need physio? When training, I would be surprised how often riders presented with one leg 'longer' than the other. It was not the bones, it would be a soft tissue injury where the body had shortened the area to protect the injury. A course of physio would help.

Is your horse straight and comfortable?

I would book in with a good, observant trainer and see what they can see.

Thanks, I did think about whether it was the saddle or me being crooked but it happens on both feet so I don’t think so. I

this happens to me - no pain but i get marks on my boots. for me it's because I always seem to end up with the stirrup diagonally on my foot. if I make an effort to keep the stirrup really straight then it doesn't happen.
