A little while ago there was a post about stirrups that helped with knee pain. Can anyone tell me what they are and where I could get some!!!!

Thanks

I think they are the ones with springs in the sides, such as the Sprenger ones (they're £100 though!). There are cheaper versions out there too, for example www.robinsons-uk.com do some for £25.

I have the Sprenger ones and they work for me. My anckle and knee used to ache within half an hour, but they are still fine no pain even after 5 hours. Have heard tha the cheaper ones are not so good, but I haven't tried them so cant comment

There are two types those with hinges and those with springs. Technically the springs ought to be better as they take the shock out of a horses stride, whereas the hinge just move to relieve pressure.

Springs are
T6
Metalab

Hinge are:
Sprenger (both types)
Shires
Royston
Westgate (Mark Todd)

Apologies just realised the T6 are also hinges rather than springs

Obviously the sprenger & T6 have more hinge joints than cheaper versions that just have the one

Thanks for that!! Ive only ever had ordinary irons and when I read on here that there were some that helped with knee pain .... well just had to get some!!! I dont tend to spend much on me whilst presshus horse gets the best!! So its about time I spoilt myself! Plus i feel like a bit old and doddery at the mo!! Really I should see a surgeon but that would be too traumatic!!! Dont do surgeons!!

I think it is between the new sprenger irons and the T6!!! Theres not a lot of difference really in price in the great scheme of things!! Just seems a lot to pay for a bit of metal!!!!

Thanks so much. I'll let you know if I walk without a limp again!!!
