First time tomorrow, mare been clipped today! looking forward to plaiting her up tomorrow and making her look smart.
I have my jacket, black boots, stock - the stock, i bought a ready tied one - i know some people say not to go with ready tied but i couldnt justify spending £30 for an untied coloured stock  so i bought a plain white one thats all ready to go.......or are they? do i just tie it round my neck (shirt) and fasten it with the velcro on the back?? never used one before, any help much appreciated!

I 'think' (having never had one) that is all you do with the awful ready tied stocks! lol.

Mind I never pay £30 for untied ones coloured or white!

Have a good day.

£30! I've never spent more than a tenner on a stock.
As far as I know they velcro round the back of the neck.

I got my white stock for a fiver on ebay, it's lovely!

Can you tell they are ready tied ones? I would have got one of those as every time I still have to look at the diagram lol, it's pinned up by my mirror!

Yes you can. They look really flat and offer no support at all to the neck.

I can't tie my own stock, I always do it wrong so my boss ties it for me.

can you tie a reef knot in a piece of string? that's how to tie a stock (roughly)... right over left and under, straighten it up, then left over right and under, straighten it all up again, put the ends into a cross shape over your front and then pin.

Ready tied looks awful. Floppy and nasty, a plain white shaped to tie shouldn't cost you much at all. Mine was from either robinsons or ride-away.
