STOLEN at Bournemouth CH show today, 27mths old Black/cream L/Chihuahua bitch with white triangle marking on front of chest, any information please get in touch with Kim Aubertin. Please spread the word around.

I think there is some confusion about whether it was stolen or just the cage was left open (or opened by someone else), the owner returned to the crate on the bench and the cage was open so hopefully she will turn up hiding on the show ground somewhere, poor dog!!

If she has been stolen, this is reason enough to not allow spectators into shows, there were SO many people there and the security couldnt have cared less what dogs were leaving, just took the passes and waved us out, we could have driven out with a carful!! Not to mention children racing out of control and unattended around the showground who could easily have opened the crate.

I disagree a little with that, it winds me up at shows the amount of dogs left unattended on benches either on leads or in crates, it's too easy for any one to take the dog or let them loose - random stranger, thief or twisted minded competitor (not saying it happens but surely possible).

I do more agility than showing but if I have to leave my dogs in their crates and have to leave them I padlock it - I know if someone's desperate enough there is nothing I can do to stop them but hope this acts as a deterrent.

I hope she's found either way.

And fully agree security should be more "up" on letting people in and out and that children should be kept under control.

I hope the little soul turns up soon, chis always seem more vulnerale when they go missing.
I'm with echodomino really, don't think you can ban spectators although an increase in checks on leaving shows would help. However in a lot of incidents where dogs have been tampered with on benches, or let loose, it does seem to have been other exhbitors who were responsible.:(
When we used to bench our dogs they were never left unattended, exhibitors used to keep an eye on each others dogs if loo breaks etc were needed, although tbh GSD people being awkward b's the majority didn't use the benches. :p
