i received this by email;
I have just found out that my neighbour had his works van with his four dogs inside it, stolen from the Essex Showground at Braintree. The theft took place today and I'm asking for everyone to please keep an eye out and report any sightings, etc straight to the police.
The van was a white Fiat Scudo 1.9D, registration no.WN51 HHZ. It has no writing on the side, and if you do not know the type of vehicle, it is slightly bigger than an Escort van but smaller than a transit.
The dogs are four Jack Russells. One is a mature brown brindle and white entire male. One is a mature tri-colour entire smooth-coated female. Two are speyed females, one is a tri-colour (predominantly coloured with not much white) smooth coat, who is slightly on the podgy side, the other is a brown brindle and white (predominantly white) rough coat.
These are house pets and definitely NOT working or yard dogs. The owners are understandably desperately keen to get these dogs back and I understand there may be a reward for any information that leads to their return.
Please either e-mail me direct or make contact via Horsewatch or Essex or Herts Police.
The theft was announced on Essex radio today and so you could also call them.
As an afterthought, if anyone lives near a shelter or rescue and would be kind enough to check out whether they have been handed in then that would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
The older dog pines when he is apart from his owner, so I fear time is of the essence.
Thanks to you all in advance for your help,
