An idea I had & it appears to work, use it yourselves if it will help.

Some months ago we had 4 energisers stolen from our paddocks, a damn nuisance & expensive to replace

. I replaced mine & sorted out a relatively cheap way to secure it.

I got a steel ammunition box, fitted the energiser into the box & put a hasp & padlock on the lid. I used a lorry isolation switch on the outside to turn it on & off without having to open the box. To secure it to the floor I drilled a hole at either end of the box's base & then screwed the box down using a couple of 'dog anchors' as below link

Once the box is screwed down it will take considerable leverage/lift to shake it free to steal the energiser. I know there are lockable chests on the market for energisers & batteries but they cost a fortune, mine cost only a few pounds & a little time to make.

That sound like a good idea. We had one stolen once so we just put a big dark green bucket over the top and chained it to a fence pole. TBH we probably wouldn't get it stolen at the place we're at now but it's less noticeable in a green bucket rather than it's big yellow self.

We've got ours hidden under a large plastic compost bin, courtesy of the local council! It's where one would expect to see a compost bin, too. The only giveaway is the wires and you have to look closely to see them.

I have written on my energiser (and on my posts and tape) "Stolen from ..and my postcode" in indelible marker. A neighbour had their energiser, and then the replacement, stolen - they wrote on it and it stayed put. Think it would certainly make people think twice about pinching it.

MY OH welded me up a steel box for mine with a hole big enough to stick my finger in to turn it off, its then chained to a cemented in post. I am sure if someone was realy determined they could get it, but it would cost them some sweat!

Your idea is a great one, and I presume that you can open the lid to take the dog anchors out to move it.
