Hi everyone, I fortunately haven't had anything stolen, although it came very close!
Just a few IDEAS to try and prevent crime.

On my expensive bridles, underneath the headpiece, I stuck a small pin. It was flat so it didn't hurt me horse, but enables me to instantly recognise it. Because people don't think there is a distinguishing mark they are more likely to take it.
On saddles (my oldd one was a jaguar event saddle) you can get a small wire with an alarm on, or a small but sturdy padlock, thread through the D rings onto your saddle rack. If the saddle is removed but someone that isn't you, it either will make an alarm, or won't be moved easily.
For horses, branding/freeze marking/micro-chipping is always the best. If your horse is stolen go to local police and get posters up, tell everyone about ANY distinguishing marks. If you have a horse with a wall eye for example, by saying this on a poster, anyone who has stolen it will know you mean business, and it will make riding/driving/hacking harder because people will spot it.
Rugs: on the small tag that has the sizing on, write your name. In BIG capital letters, write your postcode/yard name on the rug. It doesn't wash out easily and is a natural deterrent.
Vehicles: for a trailer, a makeshift or make to look like clamp is often a deterrent, I don't reallly know for lorries. But good luck!

That's such a clever idea! Maybe they insert into the flocking?! If I still had my jag saddle I would have a tracker inserted too! :p
