I've just been sent this email & thought I would put on here.
"Please Can you help?
Friends of mine at Stoke Canon have recently had their ponies stolen, they are:- Smartie, a 12.2hh dapple grey mare, dartmoor x, is broken but not been ridden for a while, about 14/15 years old and Fred and Barney, two black shetland geldings, unbroken, not even halter broken properly, about the same age. The police and horsewatch have been informed, these ponies are of no value but much missed. Please tell everyone you know and keep your eyes open. "

Don't forget the exeter horse sales are on in a few days, tuesday the 10th of Feb. Worth your friend being there. I am in cornwall, will keep eyes peeled and ears open. Here is a link to the auctioneers site, although the catalogue for the 10th feb is not on there yet. viewing is on the morning of the sale.

hope they are found safe and well.

Friends of my family had several or their gates stolen many years ago. A week later, some guys came round selling gates from their flatbed. Friends recognised a couple and phoned the police!!

JM07 I totally agree with you on that one. However, I would not go just on that premise. There is always the 'what if' factor and lets face it some theives are cunning and clever but you do get the thick sh!ts too who might (just might) risk it! I just think it is worth a try.
I was considering going myself for a look around and will certainly see what is being sold locally for OP.

what you taking hun? my friend is currently looking for a nice 3-4 year old to make about 13.1 -13.3 tops, to back herself. Anything you got match this description?

They have not made it onto the Stolen Horse Register yet
Can some photos be got out please and notes/description to make it easier to pick them out in a crowd
Involve local papers there does not seem to anything on Western Morning News site

These ponies actually belong to some friends of mine and I have a copy of the flyer we are circulating but not sure how to upload/forward to those kind people who have offered to display it. Am certainly planning to be at Exeter Horse Sales on the 10th although we realise they may well have left the area.

Can you let us know the crime reference from the police and if you can upload pictures I will circulate them here in our bulletin.

Also for those with stolen horses and those that have been missing for a while it might be worth asking Horse and Hound to run the pictures for you in the Magazine?

Delighted to tell you that missing ponies have been found safe and well in a farmer's field about a mile away, three fields from the nearest road. Many thanks for all your offers of help.
