Hi
The horse fair dates are the 5th - 12th June. This is a worrying situation, however i cant think horses would be stolen from the North East and Appleby area to be sold on Appleby Horse Fair, would this not be a little too obvious? I have recieved emails over the past couple of years re stolen horses, asking people visiting Appleby Horse Fair to look out for their horse, and they never find them. I would asume they are either hidden or shipped out with a 'new' passport. I think Freeze branding is probably the best deterrent, however i do know that in my area (Cumbria) the police have confirmed that they aware of the situation so i don't think it is a scam. All we can do is pass on all info and any sightings.
