Hey, I don't post often but have just heard that 10 ponies have had their rugs stolen off their backs on what has been the coldest night of the year. It happened in the Beverley area and all the rugs have names tippexed on them (although this may have been scratched off)

If anyone is offered a second hand rug with a pony's name on it then please report it to the police. They also ask anyone who may have information to contact Humberside Police on the non-emergency number.

Some people just don't seem to care anymore really do they

There's a group of those charming travelling horsemen (you know, the ones with caravans and coloured cobs) in Goole at the moment. They landed last week, I think. One has a small galvanised horsebox, so I'm watching my animals like hawks as they could so easily try to grab one as they leave the area.

Either way, shall watch out for rug offers.

This is so common at the moment. May I suggest users paint their postcode onto their rugs in really large letters with heavy duty gloss weatherproof paint - the stuff you use outside houses. You need to make it way too much trouble to get off.

Although it breaks my heart to deface my new rugs.....
