I have had some very expensive rugs not returned when sent off for cleaning. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

I changed to new rug cleaner this year as was offered 50% discount. All rugs in a pile and collected but no receipt/list given. in the past rug collector always left detailed list. I was not around on day he collected and friend handed them over. I thought no more about it, rugs returned but its only now that I am wanting to use them that I realise all (4) of the £260 Rambo's are missing. I know that there is little I can do about it now, but wanted to warn others not to let anything go without a receipt. I also wondered if anyone else had had the same thing happen. I live in Surrey and this company collects from Berks, Bucks Cambs, Dorset, Essex, Hants, Herts, Northants, Oxon, Kent,Somerset, Suffolk,Sussex and Wiltshire.

Yes we used a local girl last year without problems but this year she collected as normal and was un- contactable for months. We discovered other people were also missing rugs and so the police were contacted.( Hants ) The rugs had a value of circa £800

We did eventually get them back but I will never use a freelance cleaner again.

Maybe another good reason for painting your horses freezemark number all over the rugs, at least this may be deterrent enough for stealing them. If you don't have a freezemarked horse either make a number up (to deter potential horse theives) or put your post code on the rug. :)

Sorry to hear of the loss of your Rambo's though. How frustrating. :(
