Stolen tack from Rothwell - recovered!

The tack that was stolen from Rothwell mentioned below in previous post was all recovered last week.

A pickup went through a red light and when pulled had all the stolen saddles from our yard. People arrested and saddles are back where they belong!

Even got the name of who stole them and where hes from.

Any idea if they were the same people responsible for the recent spate of thefts in Yorkshire?

not sure - two people I know had their tack stolen from around same area also got phone calls saying theirs were in same vehicle but they had to go identify the tack - not sure if it was theirs on not!

Some years ago, when I was in business, the police called to ask if I could identify some stolen tack which had been recovered. They showed me a list of saddles, which a local riding school had provided to their insurance company, on a claim form. There was no possibility of a match, as the list contained various Stubben, and other top makes, whilst the saddles recovered were Argentinian and Indian! Things moved on, and somebody got their fingers rapped for trying a scam against their Insurance company!
It pays to be honest! I am not suggesting anything else but caution in making claims.

what a stroke of luck. wish id got mine back also stolen from leeds area. are the theives local to leeds and are they known to the police. A mobile saddler had his vehicle stolen with all his goods in it they recovered the van but sadly not the goods.

Yes, the people who did it live in Middleton in Leeds - which unfortunately is very close to us!
Suppose the up side is that the farm have been given a new rottweiler which is chained just behind the entrance where they got in. so...dogs on all corners now!
Would be nice to see the dog get them if they tried it again!

Middleton Hmmm...just off M1/M62.....funny that, our stuff was nicked from Ferrybridge, also just off M62....
