Stolen tack

What happens to it? I and most of my horsey friends have not had a dodgy person sidle up saying out of the corner of there mouths 'do you wanna buy a saddle' and if it does all go on the ferry they must be buried under the stuff!

I suppose a lot must end up at auctions

Thats where I would go to look if my stuff were nicked

Likely sold in the tack sales at horse Auctions like the one at Leominster or bromsgrove. I vaguely remember someone spotting their stolen rug at a table top sale near me. Once investigated - about half the stuff they had there was stolen.

Sold out of the back of a van at auctions, gypsy fairs, horse sales, and table-top sales.

Sold anywhere that sell second hand tack, including auctions, shows, tack shops, ebay, preloved etc etc

Police locally caught a buy with a transit FULL of stuff they easily proved was stolen last winter, including rugs. They just let the man go. Won't/can't say why, so guess!!

The issue is identifying who it belongs to. If it is marked with Smartwater then it is easy to determine the ownership of the stolen goods. www.smartwater.com
