Our trailer was stolen from our yard on Monday 26th October. We went out in it in the morning, returned and left the yard at about 2. We returned around half 6 to feed. The gate was wide open, the chain had been cut and the trailer was gone.

The gate was metal and padlocked with a heavy lock and chain, the trailer was also fitted with a lock on the hitch, both locks were also taken. The stables were untouched and the pony was still in his paddock. We are based in GOXHILL, NEAR BARTON, NEAR THE HUMBER BRIDGE, NORTH LINCS.

It is a green ifor williams 505, fairly good condition. A few minor knocks, bumps, and smashed plastic light cover on the right (facing the box) and a shattered mud guard. ALSO, THE TRAILER HAD NO PARTIONS, JUST A SINGLE FULL BAR ACROSS THE FRONT.

IF YOU SEE IT GET IN TOUCH, IF YOU ARE IN THIS AREA PLEASE LOCK UP AND BE VERY CAREFUL.

I just checked and it's York horse sales tomorrow so if you can get up there it might be worth checking out? If you can't their number is 01904 489 731 so might be worth calling them around 12 ish as trailers and stuff are auctioned after the horses which start at 12.

Good luck in getting it back, the ****holes need their bloody hands chopping off!

edited to say sorry I read the dates wrong on the sales, the next one is 27th November not this month

still might be an idea to keep an eye out if you haven't got it back by then. Also if anyone knows when any other auctions are on check them out?

There are other auctions at York Auction Centre, where the horse sales are. In fact, the Machinery sales on a wednesday once each month are the most popular for trailers.

My shop's at the centre, so I know the auctioneers very well there. They are all 100% honest and try to get full, checkable details on all sellers and buyers - however thieves are good at producing false details and even good auction houses make mistakes. It's worth checking with them if you have the trailer's chassis number. Good luck!

Other auctioneers to check are usually easy to find in The Yorkshire Post's saturday rural section each week. Remember though that it's far more liable to be a case of the trailer being sold via a private ad in a paper miles from where it was stolen, by which time it will have been swapped among several thieves in different areas. They rarely sell what they've stolen themselves in my experience.
