stolen trailer partitions

Hi, have just discovered today that my trailer has been broken into and all the partitions inside have been stolen. Am absolutely gutted - much the same as my trailer. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? It was locked, hitchlocked and rear wheel clamped which I guess prevented them from taking it completely but is now completely useless. Any helpful thoughts appreciated, thanks.

Yes I had a breeching bar stolen at the New Forest Show a couple of years ago the pond scum took it whilst I was showing the horses, I had to scrabble around trying to find something for the journey home, a local welder made me a replacement.

What make and model is the trailer? Perhaps you could get something made up or replacement parts from somewhere, what a pain though!

I must admit that since I had my trailer stolen years ago I do tend to keep the partition in a separate place.

Thanks for your reply. How awful to have it stolen when you were at a show, I can't believe how mean people can be. I think keeping the partitions seperately from the trailer is a sensible idea - I will definately do this in the future or try and find a building to keep it locked up in. The trailer is an Ifor Williams HB505, I hope I can get replacement parts, will speak to a dealer after New Year. They had attempted to pull all the rubber up from the floor but had given up and left it loose at the jockey door - so I am thankful for that.

Thank you for your help, it's really appreciated.

ifor sell the parts seperately. you will have to tell them your trailers chassis no so they can confirm that you arent furnishing a stolen trailer.

IW won't sell things like replacement partitions unless the serial number of the trailer is provided & that number isn't on the stolen register. Lots of people know this so store their partitions away from their trailers. I'm afraid you've fallen foul of this practice, & it's a pretty sure bet that your partition is now securely inside a stolen trailer that had its original partition removed by its former owner.
Check your trailer insurance. YIu nay find the cost of the replacement is at least partially covered.

Thank you for your advice. I really hope this will be covered by my insurance at least in part, will read the small print. I feel so upset that by leaving my partitions inside it has allowed a thief to sell on another stolen trailer taken from someone else. I didn't even occur to me that someone would steal them. I guess the only way to prevent the theft is to keep it in a locked building.

Thanks once again for your help.

Thank you for your help. Am waiting to contact the IW dealer I bought it from. It is a good idea that they check the serial numbers against the stolen trailer list.

Many thanks

I am so sorry this has happen to you. It happens here in the USA all the time, especially now that we are in a recession here.

We would be glad to let you list it for free on our website at Stolen Horse International, aka NetPosse.com. You will need to go to the site, click on FILE REPORT, then click on STOLEN TRAILER and fill in the form. Send pictures to the email addresses in the instructions along with this message from this message board so that my assistant will know that this is a free listing.

We do not have any listings from the UK yet on trailers but we do have a huge number of people from the UK that visit our site. We want to open up our services to help in any way we can. We also send out alerts with your information from your personal webapge about your trailer with pictures and a flyer that can be printed by anyone in the world, just by visiting your trailer page.

If you have questions email me privately at idahonc@aol.com.

When my ifor williams trailer was stolen the partitions were not in it as I use trailer without them and have one piece breast bar. I think quite a few get stolen without the partitions in and so it stands to reason the thieving b------s then steal partitions seperately. I now have a spare set of silver partitions
