I keep looking at everyones shooting pics...Scranny and others and I am incredibly jealous.
I have no experience and neither has Stoooopid. Do you think anyone would let us just stand with them for an hour or two??
Just to get her used to it?

All you need to do is go for a walk, meet a random posse of beaters and get kidnapped for the afternoon....

Simples;):D

Hi WoopsiidD......if you don't have any contacts locally, try NOBS http://www.nobs.org.uk/

Wasn't clear to me from your post if you just wanted to go and experience the shoot yourself or to take your dog along too (Sorry, one too many vinos last night!). If you are thinking of taking your dog, have you prepared him/her as much as possible for the noise and environment? Sorry if teaching grandmother to suck eggs but have seen so many dogs ruined by a premature 'introduction' to the shooting field.

If you've been doing gundog training at a club, maybe someone there can introduce you to a local shoot and give you an idea of if your dog is ready or not. Some get thrown in at the deep end I know and do survive, but equally a large number 'sink' and the problems (gun nervousness etc) can take forever to over come and in some cases, never are.

A nice small informal farmers shoot would be my first choice rather than a big bird day.......that's if you can pick and choose! Good luck and enjoy!

Well hurry up and pass your test and get down here then! What are you waiting for?
