I just had to check back in with an update about my experiences with cavello hoof boots! They are amazing! He takes a size 6, so if they come flying off in a gallop we'll probably kill someone, but so far its like having my old horse back. We went on a three hour hack, all on stoney tracks, and we stormed around the whole way. Couldn't stop smiling!

Hoof boots are great I have to admit having nearly brained a close friend with an OldMacG2 a few years ago - she was cantering along behind us minding her own business when it flew off, narrowly missing her!

I've changed over to Gloves since then - they do occasionally detach from hoof, but stay attached by the soft gaiter until we can slow down and reattach to foot

Boots do give you amazing freedom though - you can even do surfaces shod horses find unforgiving!
