Eridge is a lovely event and course, but it is for more experienced horses/riders id say. The water is down a very steep hill and just splash in and out of a step then over a fence to the left under the tree for the PN. It isnt particuarly spooky but it is a very steep hill towards it, you can not canter down to it.
Thank you, he was good with the water at borde on sunday, which sounds similar, he is great with ditches, doubles, skinnys and most things really. Just really feel that he needs to be doing PN - Intros are just too small for him and he just isnt being asked the quetsions that he needs to be - if that makes sense!
Also cant stand jumping him over tiny SJ, he was jumping Newcomers before the eventing season started !
There are 2 waters at Stonar. The first one is going through a running river which is about 8 metres wide - a lot of horses look at it. The second water is inside a little copse which means you are jumping into the dark.
wheres stonar?? ive JUST entered online 4 Eridge, pls tell me its ok??ive only dont Nurstead and Bordehill, will i be ok???arghhhhhh theres no HUGE ditches is there?dont mind water! Go on,join me and do Eridge??????? im a member of eventriders but theres NO pics of eridge xc??do i need to be a member of the site where pics of Eridge are????
I really like Stonar. It is trappy, but rides really well and the water can be intimidating, but it is plain & just a trot through. The SJ is always up to height and in a lovely arena.
Eridge pics are on equine affairs website, ive got membership but dont know if you need it for course pics, have a look and let me know, most the pics that they are showing on there are novice height though, they just look like a hell of a lot of timber type fences, nothing to fancy, there is a weird coffin thing but by the looks of it its novice.
Stonar seems quite popular then !
