I have made it to the finals at stoneleigh in the showing trialblazers. (must add- made it to 2nd round stage and only two in my class, so made it just for turning up!!!!) well to enter and stable my pony there it is going to cost around £200 and then I have to board and feed myself and a helper. My boy is only 4yrs old and I would like to go just for the experience. But it does seems a lot of money to go. And I am debating at this great expense should i go, its alot of money? Would you in my position? AND has any one competed at Stonleigh any advice or tips????? What should I expect?

I dont have to stable there, but they are holding the show on the sat and then repeat on the Sunday. (they offer the stables for the fri & sat night.) i have the option to drive there for both days but would take, i reckon a hour and half in the lorry. Someone told me if you go for a day visit you need to book in by 8am dont no if that is true or not??? Just thought I would be pushing it to drive over? Not sure I have never done anything like this before. Need advice!

I went for the SJ finals in 2006 and it was a great experience. It only took us about 90 minutes to drive there but we decided to stable for the experience and to save driving 90 minutes there and back for 2 days.
It was lovely to sit in the evenings have a drink or two and do some socialising with other competitors and the food was good too. The showers werent even that bad!
My horse loved the experience.

We qualified 2 SJ classes last year but were the same, by the time we had paid entry fees, stabling and an £18 "maintainence fee for Stoneleigh Park" it was going to be a really expensive weekend so we didn't go and I used the money to affiliate BSJA instead.
If you want the experience though this is probably worth paying the money if you can afford it.

I went to the SJ Finals in 2001 and 02. Can't remember how much it cost exactly - relatively cheap in those days I think. But I had the most fantastic time.

Had never seen such a vast surfaced arena which was heaven to jump on. It was all very well organised, people were friendly and we had a great weekend

We were placed in both classes on both days the 1st year and were placed 1st reserve Champion in the Senior 1.05cm Jumping, so that made my day. Plus got lovely pink sashes for each double clear.

Would imagine that as much will be made out of you Showing Champs and it would be excellent experience for your youngster. I'd say go for it.
