Stoneligh park sales :-(

What are the ministries doing do they attend sales if it was farm stock they would be jumping up and down, but in all my years attending farm markets only ever seen one sheep give birth at Market and was absolutely fine owner took her home. Needs serious investigating and docent look good on stoneleigh which is a new venue.

Exactly - poor mare and foal pictured probably then went off for meat. Too bloody stressful an ordeal for any mare

So, so angry about this. I have been to Stoneligh and other sales before and have seen some sights but this is beyond words.

The meat man often "buys" them...doesn't mean they go for slaughter.
Quite often he gets a back hander for bidding cos it puts the price up with all the people trying to "rescue" them.
If he does buy them then they are often kept to sell on.
I agree if that was a cattle market there would be DEATHRA officials on hand

FFS, everyday I feel more ashamed to be part of the human race, poor little foal, born into man's disgusting world of selfish greed with no conscience for anyone or anything, it's face says it all

Disgusting. Someone on that thread summed it up nicely with the comment everything on that farm should be separated from its balls & not just the 4 legged ones. My only addition is a local & pain relief for the 4 legged castrations only. Beyond vile.

That is disgusting, feel so helpless that I can't help the poor things
Really hope they found a loving home, something drastic needs to be done to stop all this breeding fast, I think this is going to be up to the government really as the problem is so large

I do believe that comment was in reference to a welsh stud who is having .. another.. dispersal sale  not the mare and foal in question.

Well that's something positive at least - I really hope that's the case. The thought of a mare with a newborn foal at foot going for meat doesn't bear thinking about.
