Stones get into hoof boots

Hi folks

I'm transitioning my mare to barefoot,at the moment she is footy on stony ground so we are going out in Boa boots which make a huge difference to how comfy she is .However - the ground round us s very stony, and little sharp stones get into the Boa boots ,especially in trot, one yesterday stuck in the back of the heel bulb and made it bleed , which I'm not keen to see repeated.

If anyone has ideas for how to stop this, that would be much appreciated!

Gaiters used with the Boa boots keep a lot of the stones out.

Try a pair of velcro over-reach boots around the top of the boots. x

I think I'll try the overreach boots, I have tried the gaiters but it was v tricky to get them on, the boots are quite snug anyway - my poor girl, she is going to look pretty daft but at least her feet will be comfortable....!
