Does anyone on here have their horse insured with Stoneways Services Ltd. ? Have got a quote from them for Ethel at around £25 a month which is around the same as the other companies I've tried, but this one seems to be the only on that will let me have her insured in my name as I'm under 18, whereas with the other companies it would have to go under my mums name, so wondered if they were any good or if I should go with someone else under my mums name?

:) Thanks

I am and I can't speak highly enough of them.

In the last 5 years I have claimed 16K from them. They paid up promptly with no issues at all. I also have no exclusion on my policy but I do now have to pay a 15% surcharge on vets fees - basicly meaning they will pay 85% of all claims I make. At the end of the day they have still paid out an aweful lot more than I have paid them!

Hi, thought I'd stick my oar in here! You are not legally allowed to insure a horse if you are under 18- the only things you are allowed to insure are things like cars, which you need. I wouldn't worry about your policy being under your Mother's name, you should be able to transfer it easy enough after your birthday.

Oh ... I went with them and sent the forms off today as they never asked for my DOB :S If it all goes through shall I just ring and tell them I'm under 18?? .. Or just leave it??

Ooops! Yes, you'd better had- your insurance will be invalid. That was naughty of them to not ask your dob, they need that for data protection at the very least. You may need to get your Mum to sign the proposal form too as you cannot sign a legally binding contract either. They would probably still honour a claim BUT no sense in risking it!

Big oops lol =P Will have to give them a call after work and ask them about it, dont want to risk it incase pony does decide to hurt herself and then I'll be screwed lol!
