I had the dentist out on Saturday to my two, just the usual check. He told me my youngster (rising 5) has his teeth coming through but have not yet broken the skin, so he will be in discomfort at time. He also rasped his back teeth etc.
My question is, he is a very greedy horse and usually eats his entire haynet + ancillary hay every night, not a scrap left!! Since the dentist, saturday night, sunday night, last night, he has had at least half his haynet left!!!
He is having ad-lib hay in the field and munches this along with the grass....just a bit baffled why he has gone off his net.....
Could this be because his teeth are sensitive after the dentist and he is struggling to eat from his net (he has small holes to slow him down) and it will pass....or do you think there might be something else and i should call him back???
Had my veteran done too and he is a lot better, although eating half his net too...but he can be picky!!!
Many thanks in advance guys
