Stopping at Stable

My horse is turned out in a herd. I bring her in to feed her. She has refused to go into the stable to eat.

This has happened before and I resolved it.

I am concerned she is getting increasingly anxious when seperated from the herd and finding it more and more difficult to cope with being stabled - even for short periods of time.

Otherwise she is a healthy happy mare.

Am I being too 'soft' ?

Any suggestions?

my mare, who is top of her herd, so quite bossy! often does this. dont have much need to get her in the stable really as she lives out all yr round however i do expect when i ask her that she at least obligies. i tend to either turn her round and reverse her in, tho doesnt always work, or the old broom stick up bum works well!!!

If she has a seperation issue, pandering to it will just increase it.

One of my mares is so attached to her pal she has become a right pain in the rear. All because they were stabled next to each other, always ridden together, same field for turn out.
Now I can't prize them apart, and I did the foolish thing of taking the easy way out at the time, and would just bring the other in at the same time etc. to save hassle.
Of course the problem got worse, so I'm now having to bring them in individually at times and slowly increase the time apart.

Dont be too soft, or you'll make a rod for your own back - like me lol x
