my parents have a 2yo labrador bitch. She barks when other dogs up the lane bark, and when people walk past on the road, (which is below the level of the garden, as the house is on a bank).

I've taught her the word "Quiet" .. and when she barks, she will stop if you tell her "Quiet".. but she still barks at every opportunity until told not to.

any other suggestions?

it squirts citronella when the dog barks. The dog learns to associate nasty small and stops barking.

Ask me about some other things next time I see you. Spike barks!

As suggested above...squirts out citrus....the dog will assosiate the citrus blast infront of his snout with barking he should find it unpleasant enough to stop or have it dealt again

The other link is a sound emitting device...it sounds of a high pitched noise when it deects the vocal cords vibrate(I think) dogs having super hearing will not like the noise so close to their ear....hence will assosiate it with everytime he/she barks
