Im looking to buy a garden shed to keep my straw in over next winter as at the moment its sitting on a pallet.

Is there anything I need to do re ventilation etc. Im looking at getting an 8ft x6ft shed and keeping 20 bales f straw at a time with one or two small bales of open haylege as the rest are kept outside.

Also what would I need to do re planning as I currently have a large field shelter/stables and a tack and feed shed but nothing there to store straw etc. This land is for equestrian use

Straw would be fine in a garden shed. We use an old BT van (back part only without the cab) and have had no problems with straw storage. You dont need to add ventilation or anything, just try and keep the rodents out. Re planning, I guess technically you would need it, but we never bothered and nio-one has complained.
