How does everyone keep there stuff tidy and together? In tack rooms? I end up loosing bits and pieces everywhere? Does anybody have any pictures of there storage/tack rooms?

B & Q do garden storage boxes with a lid on, look a bit like a coffin (cant think of another way to describe them, sorry about the morbidity) and they are good for storage, mouse proof too and are about £45 I think.

Uhm.. I beg to differ!:eek:
Very good storage wise though.

I just have the large plastic boxes with lids that you can get at your local diy store or poundsaver or wherever. The seem to be mouseproof so far. And they don't cost too much - usually about £10 or £15

Ikea 'Dimpa' bags ideal for rugs. Two may be three outdoors and three may be four stable rugs depending upon size/weight of rug. They come in two sizes the bigger of which is a better rug shape, the smaller is more square, but still very good. Also useful for storing exercise sheets and spare numnahs etc

Tool box for grooming kit and plastic storage boxes for boots/first aid/misc items!

I have a plastic trolley from Wilkinsons, it cost me £15 and has 4 draws. The draws are very deep and has no holes in so keeps mice away :) the trolley is on wheels so I can move it easily. I've seperated the and organised the draws so I can find things really easily, I have a draw for boots, hi vis and gloves, A draw for bathing lotions and potions, first aid draw, odds and sods draw. Everything else I keep in plastic storage boxes that I can stack up and keep out the way, I got these from Wilkinsons too and were very cheap.

Plastic storage box for boots/hi viz etc. Ikea bag for exercise sheet/numnah etc.
Also had a tub trug for boots etc, but things got dirtier as didn't have a lid.

I have an old chest freezer which I got from freecycle, if I kept my horse at a livery yard instead of at home I'd put a padlock on it ;).

Never had a problem with rats or mice with my freezer.

We had freezers for feed before concrete bunkers were made. For general storage we have metal tall filing cabinets in the tack rooms 1 per person supplied for us, all 2nd hand but definately mouse proof & plenty of room!

Thanks for all the replies! :) Some good ideas!

I like weelie bins for rugs, one summers over and rugs are being stored, i have a clean weelie bin and fold them all down and shut the lid and 'wheel' into a corner hehe!

I must get organised, tack room looks like a bomb has hit, and mouses have nibbled on my nice blue amigo rug, (my fault for leving it in a heap in the corner) but i was going to use for my yearling comming winter!! - have fix it now!

£7 For them draws - you cant go wrong really no

My spelling is really awful, my keys are sticking because of crumbs under my keyboard, from eating toast while having a nosey! :D:D

this ^^

defo not mouse proof though :D

if they make things spider proof that would be amazing :D lol!

I too have plastic storage boxes and put some stuff in spare feed buckets etc as well. I got 2 big storage boxes and have lasted fine - there weren't that expensive either. Keeps things neat and tidy especially as at our yard we have a small-ish tackroom/metal container thingy with quite a few liveries to fit their stuff in so boxes are helpful to keep things tidy!
