As we only used 1 dose for the AI i still have another dose left to either store or bin. The vets who have it now say it will be around 20pound per month storage fee

, thats more then my lorry parking cost lol...

Is there anywhere else or any other way of storing it?

Thanks

At that price you might as well buy yourself a storing canister and keep it yourself. Just don't forget to top up the nitrogen at the suitable time.

Just a question. Is the semen actually yours to keep or is it part of a live foal guarantee contract? If the latter, you should return it to the owner unless you have already agreed to use it next year.

I run a mobile stallion collection & freezing service, and have a couple of AI centres, yep. There's a link in my profile, but the storage prices quoted on the website are for larger numbers of doses. It's £2/month for you, or £20 paid in advance for the whole year

...HHO mates rates, and all that.

The only expense will be getting it to me, but depending on where the semen is now, I could pick it up for a small fee.

can i pm you too, i currently have two doses of frozen stored with a stud and i lost an in foal mare foaling this year and the stud have very kindly offered me the normal 50% return rate had it been a pre oct 1st loss of pregnacy. As i have no suitable mare for this stallion i am going to ask if i can have the semen frozen to store fopr use when i have found another suitable mare
