Hi

Is it quite safe to store haylage outside? I'm fed up with going to collect a round bale of hay every week so thought i may get a delivery of haylage but dont have anywhere to store 20 bales. Have been waiting for my building warrant to come through for weeks for my new stables as we've just moved house.

Thanks

i get a delivery of 20 bales of haylage at a time and they are stored outside. i just get on brought in when i need it. when you get your delivery always have duck tape and check the bales for wee holes and tape them up but shouldn't be a problem. i also have had not problems with vermin

I get 32 of the Huge square haylage bales around every 4-5 months, they have to be stored outside & all are on Pallets stacked in 4's so 4 to a pallet (they can't be moved by hand even with 4 of us). Never had a problem with this & never had a Vermin problem either.
The bales are opened outside also as they cannot be brought in, there's a knack to opening them so they never get wet, there never open for long though here lol.

Just had 28 more delivered the other week, so i have a full yard.
